Job Description

InterCommunity, Inc. is a growing, progressive, non-profit community health center with over 40 years of experience in the community.  We’ve been the grateful recipient over the past several years of numerous local and national awards for the innovative services we provide, and we were just named a Hartford Courant/Fox CT Top Small Workplace Award winner for the SEVENTH consecutive year!  


We are currently recruiting a full-time (40 hour/week) HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT to provide administrative support to our HR Department.  Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):


  • HRIS and Benefit Administration data entry
  • Prepare and provide benefit information
  • Verification of employment requests
  • Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data.
  • Provides administrative support by entering, formatting, and printing information; organizing work; answering the telephone;
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Maintains quality service by following organization standards
  • Maintaining Employee personnel files
  • Assist with personnel tracking activities
  • Send correspondence as needed
  • Assist with personnel tracking activities
  • Other task as assigned

Job Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants MUST meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years Human Resource office or related experience
  •  Paylocity experience preferred
  • Meticulous attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to use good judgment and discretion in handling highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as time management, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • An adaptive/flexible work style with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and work well under pressure
  • Current computer skills/ability to type efficiently

 Strong candidates should also possess:

  • Payroll experience a plus
  •  Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
